Our Story

My name is Alyssa Marc, and I am the owner of Christ Collection. I pray that as you read my story, you feel like you know me personally—not simply as the owner of a clothing brand, but as a woman whose life has been completely changed by knowing Jesus Christ.

My Testimony

I grew up hearing about God and attending church maybe two or three times a year. I knew that He was real and that He had created us, but I did not yet understand what it meant to have a relationship with Him. For a long time, I was a happy and optimistic person. I used to deny that depression was real, believing it was simply a state of mind that someone could overcome on their own. Looking back, I now understand that the emptiness and loneliness I experienced were not things I could overcome by myself. I came to realize that those feelings were signs of a deeper longing for intimacy with the One who created me.

During my second year of college at Texas State University, there was a specific night when an overwhelming emptiness came over me. I was by myself in my apartment, surrounded by things that would normally distract me, yet I felt completely empty and unsatisfied. Without the company of my friends, I realized how deeply lonely I felt, and being by myself felt almost unbearable. I had tried to fill that emptiness with temporary coping mechanisms, but that night, nothing felt like enough. I didn't yet understand why; I only knew that I felt empty, and all I knew to do was go home—to be around my family. I realized that I was experiencing that same depression I once denied.

I went home and continued school online for a couple of weeks. Being around my family brought me comfort, but more importantly, I started going back to church. Eventually, I reached a point where I no longer wanted to run from my thoughts, feelings, or the silence within me. I wanted to surrender the temporary things I had been using to cope, truly feel the weight of what was happening inside of me, and surrender all of it to God. So I began reading my Bible. At that time, I was seeking to do what I believed was right according to God's Word, and I was hopeful for the blessings that came from obedience. I hadn't yet understood that my relationship with God was deeper than simply doing what was right or wrong and being rewarded or punished for it.

I was eventually led to drop out of school. I knew that, for me, there was nothing there encouraging me to go deeper with God, and I began to understand that His plan for my life was different from the one I had made for myself. At the beginning of my walk with the Lord, I almost treated the Bible like a rule book. I wanted to do everything it told me to do and stay away from the things it told me to stay away from. As I began to obey His Word, I started to see fruit in my life. I had peace, I wasn't constantly hurting myself or others, I became content with being alone, and I no longer needed the things I had once used to cope. I experienced true deliverance from addiction, and I came to understand that it did not come from my own strength, but through surrender, dependence upon God, and repentance.

The Lord began blessing my life in ways I never could have orchestrated for myself. I was given things I had prayed for and things I never expected—a new car, a clothing brand, opportunities to serve, a women's life group, a youth group, community, ministry, and so much more. I became a member of my church and began serving the people around me, and I was incredibly grateful for all of it.

But after three years of walking with the Lord, I have learned something I could not have understood when I first began this journey: it is not the blessings that satisfy my soul. It is knowing the Lord. It is not the clothing brand, the ministries, the opportunities, or even the husband and daughter God has graciously given me. I have been entrusted with those things as gifts to steward back to God, but none of them can take the place of God Himself.

Jesus says in John 17:3, “And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.” I used to think of eternal life primarily as a destination—a place I would go after this life. But Scripture has shown me that eternal life is knowing God. It is relationship with Him, walking with Him, abiding in Him, being transformed by Him, and ultimately being with Him forever. That is what I want my life to point to, and that is what I want Christ Collection to point to.

The Purpose of Christ Collection

The purpose of Christ Collection is simple: to win souls. The purpose is not simply to put a Christian message on a shirt or create streetwear that represents Jesus. The purpose is to know Christ so deeply that He is manifested through my life, and to use whatever God has placed in my hands to make people curious enough to ask, “Who is Christ?”

The gospel is the good news that every human being is born into sin and separated from God, yet God, in His great love for us, sent His Son, Jesus Christ, from glory to become a man. Jesus lived a completely human life and experienced temptation as we do, yet He never sinned (Hebrews 4:15). He willingly went to the cross, taking upon Himself the punishment for our sins. He was beaten, crucified, and died the death that our sin deserved so that we could be forgiven and reconciled to God. He then resurrected from the dead and ascended to the right hand of the Father.

Jesus promised, “I go to prepare a place for you,” and that He would come again and take His people to be with Him (John 14:2–3). Scripture also tells us that if we suffer with Him, we will also be glorified with Him (Romans 8:17). But the gospel is not simply about trying our hardest to live like Jesus so that one day we might be good enough to enter heaven. The gospel is that Jesus saves us, transforms us, and gives us His Spirit so that we can live a new life now. We surrender, repent, believe, and allow Him to transform us from the inside out.

Paul says in Galatians 2:20, “It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.” That is what I want people to see when they encounter me. I don't want Christ Collection to simply represent Christ on the outside while my life contradicts Him on the inside. I want the clothing to be an outward expression of an inward reality. Because the Holy Spirit lives within those who belong to Christ, my love, character, obedience, words, and the fruit of my life should all point back to Him. I want people to see that there is something different—not because I am better than anyone else, but because Christ lives in me.

That is the purpose: to know God, to be transformed by Him, to manifest Christ in my life, to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, and to see as many souls as possible come to know Him. Christ Collection is simply one of the things God has placed in my hands to help accomplish that purpose.

As Mark 16:15 says, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.” Each day, I desire to know God more intimately and allow Him, in His perfect will and timing, to inspire whatever comes next for Christ Collection—whether that is a new design, product, ministry, or something I cannot see yet. My prayer is that whatever I create would cause someone to stop, ask questions, and ultimately inquire about who God is.

I don't know where this brand will go, but I know who I want it to point to: Jesus Christ. My prayer is that when you encounter Christ Collection, you don't just see clothing. I pray you see a testimony, the fruit of a life surrendered to God, and a reminder that you are loved. Most of all, I pray that through this brand—and through my life—you come to know the One who loved you enough to give His life for you.

To God be all the glory.
